drawing practice

So.  I felt as if my drawings were suffering due to my lack of understanding.   As a result before i dove into a day filled with numbers i practiced by picking up Richard Schmids 'Landscapes' book and doing some quick sketch copies of  the drawings he had shared.  I love his artwork so it was absolute fun doing these.  Here are two pages, there are two more.

This past weekend California Art Club provided the opportunity to visit the San Antonio Mission de Padua to paint with a fellow 50 other painters.  Needless to say it was a remarkable experience as we all gathered up in a remote location to paint and enjoy each others company.  Some paintings are from the retreat and the Walters' beautiful home who invited the painters to their splendid home.  The portraits i painted monday and the back study i began today, the last painting to the 'black and white' series currently hanging at Studio Arts.
