In the drying rack for 2012

 

These paintings are all fairly small in size, they are either studies or studies for larger paintings i will be doing both with a somewhat monocromatic palette and the zorn palette in sizes ranging up to 40" across.  In this set i'm beginning to learn the incredible difference between working from life and from a photo, my preference being by far working from life (reasons i'll perhaps go into later).  I'm currently experimenting with composition, brushwork and thickness of paint.  Alot to learn still, but at least i'd rather be doing nothing else.  :)  

PS: apologies for poor photograph quality, will work on it soon enough.  All the paintings above also all have pure white and pure black, i'm not sure if that comes across.

Thanksgiving Stuffing

Drove to CO to spend Thanksgiving w/ some friends and added a couple misc stops including Bryce Canyon.   Awesomeness.   Now time for some hardcore paintingness.
